I wanted to do a small exercise to feel more at home and test the new Gaea 2 version. To achieve this I chose to do one of the most important landmarks in Colombia and the second biggest canyon in the world. Chicamocha Canyon.
The idea of this exercise was again to practice the use of flow, this time to create braided rivers and control the erosion in different parts of the terrain, one other biggest challenges was to create variation on the erosion in order to get as close as possible to the actual site, this also helped the texturing to achieve a more realistic result. Everything was made inside of Gaea2 except for the painter part where I used the same masks to apply materials with the intention of introducing roughness and brake Gaea's base color. Rendered on Iray.
